Maryland Opera Studio
April 2013
I'm pleased to announce that I've been accepted as a doctoral candidate in opera at the University of Maryland in College Park, where I'll be a member of the renowned Maryland Opera Studio. I'll miss all the great people I've gotten to know here in Oklahoma, and am looking forward eagerly to this next stage in my career and development!
Verdi & Beethoven
September 2012
I've been cast in the title role of OU Opera's production of Verdi's Falstaff in March of 2013. I'll also be singing the baritone solo in performances of Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the OU Choirs and Orchestra, under the direction of Jonathan Shames. Thanks to all for your encouragement, interest, and support.
Cancer Survivor!
August 2012
Hi everyone,
I recently got some great news regarding my health. For those of you that were unaware, I've been struggling for the last seven months or so with a form of cancer called Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It attacks the lymph nodes throughout the body. An 11 centimeter mass was found next to my heart, so I've spend the last seven months receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I recently received results from a PET scan (a procedure which allows doctors to see any metabolizing (cancer) cells in the body, and the findings were very good! No more metabolizing cells and I am in full remission! I'm so very grateful! Abundant thanks go out to my family, friends, colleagues, and supporters for the the enormous amount of prayers and support. I should be back to singing in no time!
Best,
Anthony
